CONTINENTAL AND UNIBLOC PUMPS

Clyde Lee, Manager, C & C HydraulicsWe at C&C Hydraulics are really excited about the changes that are taking place at our company. One of the changes is that C&C has become a Service Repair Center for Continental Hydraulic Pump. The Continental is a pump that we have used and recommended for many applications. Unlike other pumps on the market, the parts to rebuild are very readily available and we keep most in stock. The pump series that we see the most of are the PVR50-50 and the PVR50-70. These pumps are commonly used on power units. We have built many power units from “start to finish” and always use the Continental if at all possible, which is almost all the time. With it being a vane pump, you will get great service and a longer lasting pump at a great value.

We have also became a Service Center for the Unibloc Pump. If you are not familiar with this pump, it is a stainless steel pump that is used in several different applications. One of the most common uses we see is to pump batter in poultry plants. Other pumps are, of course, on the market for this application, but the Unibloc Pump is designed to perform with less moving parts, thus lasting longer. As you know, this will save on down time for your plant and less down time means more run time and more money on the bottom line. When it DOES come time for rebuilding the Unibloc, our Techs have been trained by Unibloc to make sure your pump is brought back to factory specs and ready to get back in there and get to work.

We at C&C spend a lot of our time finding ways to improve your plant's performance. That is why we have teamed up with companies like Continental and Unibloc to get the best products we can possibly get to help your plant run the best it can possibly run. We are very fortunate to be working with these Companies and look forward to all the possibilities we can bring together.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.

SETTING UP POWER UNITS TO GET THE BEST PERFORMANCE POSSIBLE

The last couple of times, what I have written about has mostly dealt with filtration and cleaning of Hydraulic Fluid. This time I would like to talk about setting up Power Units to get the best performance possible.

Sometimes more pumps is not the answer. C & C has been called to some plants that wanted to add more pumps to the system to get more volume for the system. If your piping will support this, we are going in the right direction. But sometimes this is not the case. It could be possible that not having enough pumps isn't the problem. In this case, C&C can come in and evaluate your Hydraulic System and find out the best way to go. Has more equipment been added to the system since the system was installed new? Can your piping system tolerate the additional fluid you are asking it to take on? A lot of information needs to be configured to get your system producing at its peak performance. We need to make sure your pumps aren't pushing against each other. If they are, this will cause friction, which in turn will cause less flow. It will also cause more heat in your system. And as we all know, heat will cause Hydraulics Fluid to break down, thus causing more problems to the performance of your Hydraulic Unit.

I have been around cars all my life. One of the first things you learn from Dad or Mom or big brother is that servicing and taking care of your car is the life of it. The same applies to your Hydraulic Unit. The better you take care of it, the better service you are going to receive from it. We would never let our car or truck keep going and going without it getting the service it requires. We should think of our Power Unit the same way. If you keep it serviced and get
C & C to perform the service and set up it needs, we are going to save you money in several ways.

One thing is cutting your down time. I don't think I have been in any kind of plant that is not concerned about down time. It will also extend the life of the Pumps, Motors and Valves.
We work with several plants across the South. So many times the Maintenance crew has so much to do they can't keep up. One plant comes to mind that we have been working with. They were 10 months behind on the preventive maintenance programs. The plant contracted with C&C to come in and help them catch up on the maintenance. It took several weeks but we helped them get caught up. We found quite a few items, such as leaking hoses, pumps that were not running correctly, etc. that were causing a loss of fluid and other things that was costing the plant a lot of money. This is an area that we at C&C Hydraulics have helped many plants save money.

Please feel free to contact us about concerns you may have at your plant. Maybe we can help you get your units running more efficiently and performing at their peak.

Thanks very much for visiting with us , and again, please contact us if we can be of service.

Hi and thanks again for visiting C and C Hydraulics' website. I wanted to let you know about some of the things going on here at C and C. We have been doing a lot of filtration and cleaning of systems.

We had a really big project where we went to Florida and filtered a system for an amusement park there. The system is approximately 16,000 gallons of fluid. They had a problem with water in the system. As you know, with most Fluids, water just does not mix. With the Filtration unit we have, the water was taken out, thus saving them several thousand dollars because they didn't have to replace their fluid.

We have had many projects like this come up, with the same results. Filtering your fluid and making it clean again saves in many ways. You don't have to discard the old fluid, saving your Company money and helping with the "Green Thing".

We have also gone in many plants and repaired leaks in the system, again saving money. It is amazing how much oil can leak out in "drips" over just one shift. Even if it doesn't look like much, it can add up. And most of the time, it isn't just one leak. It is several. The longer we ignore them, of course the more fluid is lost and cannot be recovered. This is just money washed down the drain. We all know how expensive any oil product is.

One plant comes to mind that had several leaks on a power unit that is approximately 1200 gallons. It was leaking on each of the six pump units that made up this power unit. C&C went to the plant, fixed leaks and replaced old equipment such as fittings, adapters and hoses. They were going through approximately 200 gallons of fluid per week before we did the repairs. After the repairs, the fluid usage was almost none. As you can see, this, again, saves the Company money.

We have a team at C and C Hydraulics that really cares about what we do. We enjoy our jobs and take pride in the work we perform (our Company Slogan is "I Love my Job") and that goes a long way in getting quality work performed. We look forward to coming to your plant soon and helping get your Hydraulic Systems on the right track. Please contact us with any questions you might have and we look forward to hearing from you.

Feb '08 -  WE HAVE JUST MOVED INTO A 12,000 SQ FT BUILDING . . .

Hello and thank you for visiting C&C Hydraulics’ new website. I hope you find it very  informative.  Explore the complete site and let us know if you have any questions.

My name is Clyde Lee and I am the manager here at C&C Hydraulics. To tell you a little about myself,  I have been in the hydraulic business for over 20 years.  I have been married to the same woman, Jodi, for 29 years. We have 2 children and seven grandchildren, 3 of whom live with us. I love Hot Rod cars and I own a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle.

I love doing what I do, as do the rest of the people that work with us. The Company saying is, “I love my job”, and we do  mean it. Our Company started out in business with  hopes and dreams of  serving this area’s hydraulic needs. We are now serving several states in the South. Over the years, we have continued to add more and more inventory, with hard to find items such as hydraulic hoses, fittings, o-rings, seals, pumps, cylinders, motors, etc.  We have a complete rebuild shop, and machine shop, for cylinders, pumps, and motors. We also rebuild Vacuum pumps, such as Leybold and Busch. Our rebuild shop always strives to use the best replacement parts available to insure you get a quality rebuild  to your hydraulic component each and every time something  comes to our facility.

C&C has been doing some growing too. We have just moved the On-Site Service and Filtration departments  into a 12,000 square foot building here in Colbert, Ga. The Tubes and Hoses departments will remain where we have been for several years on Hwy 72.

Not only do we rebuild hydraulics, but we feel that part of our job is to help find solutions to problems in your facility to keep your hydraulics running longer and more efficiently. We have a service crew that will come to your plant and repair hydraulic leaks and troubleshoot your system to get you running as smoothly  as possible. We offer a filtration program to keep your fluid running as clean as possible. The equipment we operate is capable of cleaning fluid down to 3 microns. We are also capable of removing water from your fluid. As we all know, the cleaner and drier the fluid, the more efficiently your hydraulic system will operate, thus creating a better environment for your hydraulic equipment to give you better and longer-lasting performance. Not only do we filter hydraulic fluids, but we can also filter diesel fuel. Filtering diesel will make a big difference in how your fuel will perform.

Again, thanks for visiting with us and please  feel free to contact our Company with any questions you may have. We will be putting more information up periodically, so drop back in on us.
